We took Samantha to the doctor for her 1 month check up & she got a great report! She weighed 9lbs 14oz & was 21 1/2 inches. She's getting big!

We've been getting out a lot between baby class & the mall:) Samantha's going to be a profesional shopper when I'm done with her! We're having a lot of fun together!

Way Over Due

This update is way over due- sorry.

Samantha is doing great! She will be 4 weeks tomorrow. Where has the time gone!?!

We celebrated our first Halloween. It was fun dressing her up for a few pictures.

We took our first Mommy & Me class at the JCC with some friends from Lamazel Tov. We sang "The Wheels on the Bus", "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", played freeze dance, etc. Samantha slept through it all.

We had our first babysitters...Aunt Vicki, Uncle Harvey & Granny. Mike and I went to dinner for our 3 year anniversary.

We have our 1 month doctor appointment on Monday and can't wait to see how much Samantha's grown.

2 Weeks

1 week old!

Samantha turned 1 week today! Wow, this past week had flown bye! We got a great report from the doctor today and we're all doing great!

Over Rated!

Best rest is so over rated! I was so excited to just relax for a week but I'm so bored! There are so many things I wish I could do.

Luckily we only have 2 more days until Baby Halle arrives!!! I can't believe in 2 days I'm going to be a Mommy! Stay tuned for her arrival!

Update

I am scheduled to be induced next Thursday, Oct 11. I can't believe I will be a Mommy next week! We went to both doctors today and Baby Halle weighs 6lbs 12oz. My amniotic fluid is low so the doctor put me on bed rest. I need to rest and drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. We have an appointment Monday to check my fluids again. Here is a picture of Baby Halle from today's Ultrasound at 37 weeks. I love those chubby cheeks!!!

i'm anxiously counting the days & weeks! here's a picture of me at 35 weeks & 3 days.

Change of plans...

we met w/ the doc this morning and she said i'm doing great- diabetes are under control, baby isn't too big, etc...because i'm doing so well they cancelled the amnio & induction for next week. she said i will def. deliver by oct 17 but we'll play it by ear week by week to see if it will be sooner. she basically left it up to me if i want to go sooner. we'll meet w/ her next thurs again.

34 weeks...2 more to go!

It's been a while since we updated...

Baby Halle turned 34 weeks today! She weighs 5lb 3oz which is average.

Because I have Gestational Diabetes they want to get her out as soon as she is developed enough. Sooooo...I have an amnio scheduled in 2 weeks on September 26! If her lungs are fully developed they will induce me the next day. If her lungs aren't developed yet we will wait a week to do another amnio. We are so excited especially considering she could be here a month earlier then we expected. She is head down now so she is getting ready to make her debut. Her kicks are very strong and I can see my stomach moving when she kicks. It really is all so amazing!

My Baby Shower

Today my friends Heather & Sari were generous enough to throw me a small Baby Shower! It was such a great party and all of my closet friends & family were there. The weather was perfect & everyone had a wonderful time. We got beautiful gifts and I can't wait until Baby Halle is here to share them with her.

A special thanks to Heather & Sari for giving me a wonderful day that I'll always remember!!!

Yesterday we had our monthly check up with the OB/GYN...everything looks great & we're progressing well. The doctor informed us that since we're getting closer we'll have to start going for check ups every 2 weeks! Reality struck!

Today we had our growth ultrasound at 28 weeks. Baby Halle weighs 2lbs 14oz. She's a tad big but has the cutest chubby cheeks. We saw her yawning and her hands & feet were up by her head the whole time. I asked the tech if they ever do 3-D ultrasounds and she was kind enough to do one for us. The picture above is of Baby Halle's face in 3-D, like I said her hands & feet were by her face so the tech cropped the picture to just show her face. Click the picture to enlarge it.

Babymoon

Mike and I spent a relaxing couple of days in Hilton Head Island. We really enjoyed our last vacation alone before Baby Halle comes. This was the first vacation I truly did not want to leave. It was a great time!

4th of July 2007

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!

Today we spent a day like the life styles of the rich and famous on Mike's cousins 140ft yacht the "Martha Ann". With a crew of 11 we were served drinks on silver trays & all you can eat jumbo crabs, jumbo shrimp & anything you wanted off the menu at the Crab Claw in St. Michael's. We even met Dexter Manley who played #72 defensive end for the Red Skins, he's a friend of Mike's cousins & joined us on our cruise. Previous passengers include Mariah Carey & Howard Stern! Kick Baby Kick!

Last night I felt the most amazing thing, our baby kicked! I had my hand on my stomach for a while waiting to see if I could feel her and suddenly I felt a flick on my hand! How exciting!

New Carpet

We just got new carpet installed in the nursery! I'm so excited how it turned out!

We're 1/2 Way There!

Today I'm 20 weeks! We're 1/2 way there!

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's about 10 inches from head to heel. (The way your baby is measured now changes.) A greasy white substance called vernix caseosa coats your baby's entire body to protect her skin during its long submersion in amniotic fluid. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky substance made of dead cells, digestive secretions, and swallowed amniotic fluid, which will accumulate in her bowels and end up in her first diaper.

Nursery in Progress

I know some people like to keep their nursery a surprise until the baby is born but we're just so excited about it we can't keep it in!

Mike worked so hard this weekend painting the nursery & it looks amazing!!! It looks even better in person! There's also a picture w/ a pillow that matches our bedding for those of you who haven't seen it. Tonight we're being measured for new carpet. It's all coming together!

19 Week Doctors Appointment

Today we had our BIG ultrasound at 19 weeks! The doctor confirmed~ IT'S A GIRL!!! She weighs 10 ounces & is very healthy. They measured her bones & body and we got all check marks which was good. We saw her holding her foot which was so cute. She is definitely her fathers daughter because she can't sit still! I swear her profile looks like mine and the tech even commented on what a cute nose she has. We should start to feel her kick any day now & we can't wait!

My little Sweet Potato

18 Weeks!
Head to bottom, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a large sweet potato), and she weighs almost 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs — movements that you'll likely start noticing more and more. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place.

My Dad & Sandy have been generous enough to give Mike and I their time-share this summer in Hilton Head Island, SC! My parents took Jill & I there every summer when we were little kids and I haven't been back since the week I first met Mike 6 years ago (that's a true story!). I remember talking about him all week and calling him 50 times from Hilton Head. I am really looking forward to sharing my childhood vacation spot w/ Mike & it will be Baby Halle's first trip there as well. Thanks Dad & Sandy!!!

Another Great Pregnancy Moment!

Today I was walking down the hallway at work and felt like my shoes were lop-sided. I looked down and had on 2 different shoes and 1 was black & 1 was brown! Mike came to the rescue and brought me the correct shoe.

It's a GIRL!!!

Today we found out the best news ever~ IT'S A GIRL!!! We surprised our parents for Mother's Day and took them for a 3D ultrasound and gender determination. We had them meet us in a parking lot and I wrote a poem telling them what we were doing. We got to hear the baby's heart beat, see her sucking her hand, swallow & hiccup, and move all around. I was so nervous, when the technician asked how far along I was first I said 6 months, then I said 6 weeks- finally Mike had to answer for me. I wore pink hoping for a girl and my wish came true! It was so wonderful to share this experience w/ our parents especially since none of them have really ever seen an ultrasound. We are so happy & excited for our little girl!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Today we spent the day w/Lauren's family at Aunt Vicki's. We ate, talked, ate, scrapbooked & ate! Mike, Paul & Josh worked on the nursery. They put up a chair rail & crown molding. It looks great! Tomorrow is our "Mother's Day Surprise" for our parents and then dinner w/ Mike's whole family.
